Characteristics:
Contrary to the old wives tale, earwigs do not crawl in through your ear to your brain while you are sleeping. That being said, you still don’t want them invading your home. Their most identifiable characteristic is the pincer at the back of their abdomen. Earwigs are attracted to food, water, light and shelter. Prevention:
The first step to keep earwigs from entering your home, is sealing any cracks or crevices used to enter the home. Also, make sure to remove any piles of debris or firewood from up against your house. If you have areas of humidity in the home, particularly the basement, use a dehumidifier.
