German Cockroach: The German Cockroach is the most common species to invade homes. They are light brown or tan in color with two dark stripes down their backs and are 1/2 to 5/8 inch in length. These cockroaches do have the ability to fly, but rarely do. They look for warm, moist areas with access to food. The most common places to find them is in kitchens or bathrooms.
Brownbanded Cockroach: Like their name suggests, they are dark brown with lighter brown bands across their bodies. They are 1/2 an inch long. Males have the ability to fly but females do not.
