Fruitland is a wonderful place to call home! Unfortunately for us, there are several kinds of spiders that like to call this valley home as well. While spiders are welcome to thrive in places like Rudy Park, they can become a huge issue when they try entering our homes. A few common spiders for this area include the Black Widow, Hobo and House Spider. Not only are they pesky, but some of their bites are even poisonous. This makes Fruitland Spider Control very important for this valley.
- Black Widow: Black Widows are identified by their shiny black color with a bright red hourglass shape on their back. They are typically 1 1/2 inches to 1 3/8 inches long. They have a venomous bite that is said to be 15 times more venomous than a rattlesnakes bite. A Black Widow bite may cause nausea, difficulty breathing and muscle aches.
- Hobo: Hobo spiders are varying shades of brown with a dark stripe. They are 1 inch to 1 3.4 inch in diameter, including legs. There is a debate about whether the Hobo spider is venomous or not. Either way, you probably don’t want a bite from one of these spiders.
- House Spider: True to its name, the house spider often invades homes. Adults can live for a year or more. A female can lay up to 17 egg sacs, or 3,760 eggs in her lifetime. They are a yellowish brown color with white and dark stripes. They are 1/8 of an inch to 5/16 of an inch in length. These spiders may bite in defense, but are not generally considered medically threatening.
