Important Considerations:

  • When disturbed, workers give off a strong odor used as an alarm to other ants.
  • The ants will spray acid into tree wounds that were chewed into the bark. This will result in girdling to the tree.
  • These ants can be found in large numbers in the spring.

Where to Find Them on Your Property?

These ants are usually found near fields or woods. The workers can be spotted on patios, porches and decks.
