Important Considerations:

  • White-footed ants have very large colonies; A single colony can have up to 3 million members.
  • These ants have a major sweet tooth. They will frequently enter homes in search of sweets or proteins that can be found in your kitchen or pantry.
  • Unlike most ant species, white-footed ants do not share their food. This means that when they find a food source, the ants will form large lines trekking to and from the food so that each ant can be fed.

Where to Find Them on Your Property?

White-footed ants seek moisture-rich environments to house their colonies. Outside, they choose places under bark or rocks, inside trees or logs, or within old termite galleries to live. If they are living inside your home, they can be found in wall voids, attics, or under shingles.
