Identification:

Color: light brown with dark band on face and streaks down the body

Size: 3/8-1/2 an inch

Region: Found in Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and California.

Important Considerations:

  • They are called field cockroaches for the fact that they usually live outdoors.
  • They feed on decaying matter.
  • They are attracted to lights at night.
  • They are most likely to invade houses when the climate becomes dry and they are seeking moisture.

Where to Find Them on Your Property?

They are found under stones and other objects. They can be found in mulch, flower beds and under piles of leaves where moisture accumulates.
