Important Considerations:
- Male Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches are very aggressive and will frequently fight with other males.
- These cockroaches are wingless, and instead have padded feet that allow them to climb nearly anywhere.
- These pests can appear frightening because of the hissing noise they produce. Thankfully, though, Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches are not known to attack humans or even to enter structures. They are simply a nuisance.
Where to Find Them on Your Property?
Except as pets, Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches are not typically found in the United States. They are native to the island of Madagascar off the African coast. They choose to live in places that are tropical, damp, and warm. They like to live inside foliage on the forest floor or inside logs.
