Important Considerations:

  • Gophers eat 60% of their body weight each day.
  • They are herbivores and like to feed on roots, shrubbery, trees, forbs, and grasses.
  • Gophers burrow under the ground and can cause damage to your property because of this. Signs of damage are gopher mounds, loss of irrigation, gnawed electrical or sprinkler lines, and tree root damage.

Where to Find Them on Your Property?

Because gophers live in underground burrows, many people don’t notice they have gophers from seeing the animals themselves but finding evidences of them living under their property. Crescent shaped dirt mounds dotting your yard, pasture, or field are the easiest way to detect a gopher population.
