Color: Black with bands of red, yellow or white.

Size: 3/4 of an inch to 2 inches

Region: Found throughout the United States and Canada

Important Considerations:

  • Females will dig into the ground and become nuisances in lawns.
  • These wasps are solitary and do not live in colonies.
  • They very rarely sting people.

 

Where to Find Them on Your Property?

They can be found flying over lawns from early in the morning until evening time.
