Identification:

Color: yellowish brown to reddish brown in color

Size: 7/16 of an inch to 1/2 of an inch

Region: Found in the Eastern United States

Important Considerations:

  • Swarming termites fly into structures and infest the wood.
  • They are mainly introduced to new structures through human transportation. This is including moving furniture or other wood items to new areas.
  • The swarming usually takes place at night and during the months March through August.

 

Where to Find Them on Your Property?

They can be found infesting the wood of structures particularly door and window frames, siding, eaves, and attics.
