  • The average lifespan of snakes is 13-18 years in captivity, though depending on the species some snakes can live to be as old as 40
  • Researchers recognize that there are up to 3,600 different kinds of species of snakes throughout the World
  • Snakes are carnivores and their diets normally consist of frogs, small animals, animal eggs, and sometimes insects
  • Snakes shed their skin 3 to 6 times a year to allow for their body to grow
  • Snakes can lay anywhere from 3 to 20 eggs

 

Where to Find Them on Your Property?

You will find snakes in places like rivers, the forest, or in the desert, depending on the species. If you have snakes on your property, they will likely be living in your basement or in damp quiet places. They can also be found behind or under appliances, or near things like water pipes. Snakes can be active during the day, and at night depending on the type of snake that it is.
