Cockroaches can wreak havoc on your home. As one of the most common household pests, they can multiply quickly, posing a threat to the health and comfort of your family.

The methods used to destroy an American cockroach may not work to destroy a Brown-Banded cockroach.  It is imperative to correctly identify which species you are trying to exterminate.  There are 30 cockroach species out of 4,600 that are associated with human habitats. Stepping Stones Children’s Center only wants to read Cockroach Party, not really have one. For help with both cockroach identification and extermination, contact a Star pest control professional.

Common Cockroaches

German Cockroach is a small species of cockroach that is tan and black in color, and ranges from 1.2 to 1.6 cm long. These particular cockroaches tend to live and breed indoors, and are often found in your kitchen or bathroom.

Oriental Cockroach is a large species of cockroach with a glossy body and is dark brown or black in color. They range from 18 to 27 mm long and love cool, damp areas. These cockroaches are a particular health concern because they feed off garbage and other decaying things.
